Squash Fundamentals Instructor Elizabeth Ricker
Formerly ranked in the top 20 in the country and trained in neuroscience at both MIT and Harvard, Elizabeth brings both squash experience and a knowledge of the brain to her teaching. She emphasizes both the physical and mental aspects of the game, personalizing lessons with just-in-time video feedback, visualization techniques, customized fitness regimens, and tips on how to observe and strategically play to your opponent's weaknesses. As an MIT undergraduate, she was one of the few women who played on the Men’s Varsity team (enabled by Title IX), and she competed at the Men's National Championships. Before MIT, she underwent extensive training at squash academies in both the US and the UK. She was coached for years by US Junior National Coach Mark Lewis. Elizabeth was voted Employee of the Month for her group lessons program at the MIT Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center. Her aim is for you to emerge from her lessons a confident, capable, and self-aware squash player.
